Thurman is loan sale management infrastructure for CDFI loan funds and the intermediaries that work with them. We automate the operational work of executing a secondary loan sale, data validation, settlement, and post-close record-keeping, so deals that used to take 35–40 days close in a fraction of the time.
Thurman is a headless API that teams integrate into their existing workflows. It handles: (1) ingesting and validating loan tape data, (2) tracking deal terms and storing transaction documents with a cryptographic hash recorded for verification, (3) executing settlement in near-real-time, and (4) maintaining post-close records accessible to both parties. Your team manages the relationship; Thurman handles the operational execution via API.
No. Thurman is infrastructure for executing loan sales, not a platform for sourcing buyers. If you already have bank relationships and want to move transactions faster with less manual work, Thurman is built for you.
Thurman currently focuses on small business loans originated by certified CDFI loan funds. We are expanding to other community development loan types.
Yes. Thurman is designed for intermediaries as much as it is for direct sellers. If your organization coordinates loan sales on behalf of a network of CDFIs, Thurman's API gives your tech team the infrastructure to handle data validation, settlement, and post-close record-keeping across all of your transactions, without growing your back-office team.
Thurman is a headless API; your tech team integrates it directly into your existing workflow or internal tools. There's no separate UI to log into. It accepts standard data formats (CSV, Excel, or direct LOS connection) and returns structured outputs your team can act on. We work alongside your existing loan origination and fund management systems.
Our target is to reduce settlement from 35–40 days to under one week for most transactions. The exact timeline depends on counterparty approval, but Thurman eliminates the operational delays, wire coordination, manual documentation, and reconciliation that cause most of that lag.
Thurman charges a monthly subscription for access to our infrastructure. Contact us for specific pricing.
Both. Banks can request early access and work with our team to integrate directly. You'll also benefit automatically as your CDFI partners adopt Thurman, validated data and faster settlement flow through to your side of every transaction.
Yes. Thurman stores transaction documents and records deal terms for every loan sale, including the files your CDFI partners upload as part of the transaction. Your compliance team can retrieve those records when examiners ask, without hunting through email threads or shared drives.
Thurman is building toward SOC II compliance. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Role-based access controls ensure each institution sees only its own data and the transaction data it is authorized to view.
Thurman operates as a technology platform facilitating loan sale transactions between institutional counterparties. We are working through our regulatory and compliance strategy as we scale. Consult your legal and compliance team regarding your institution's specific obligations.
Request early access through our website. We are onboarding a limited set of founding partners, CDFI loan funds and intermediaries, in our initial launch cohort. We'll reach out to schedule an onboarding call.
